China’s economic overhaul

Implications for Australia

A new Rhodium Group report published by the Asia Society Policy Institute has found that despite many expecting Chinese President Xi Jinping to follow domestic political consensus, he is in fact delivering a manifesto designed to modernise China economically, politically and ultimately socially by 2020.

This reform is necessary for China to achieve its growth potential of 6 percent by 2020. It will require transformation towards western market-driven standards, address several major challenges and allow a more effective use of capital – people, money and materials.

I believe this is a game changing approach with strong implications
for Australia.
