The partnership of KPMG Australia has elected Alison Kitchen as its new National Chair. The first woman to Chair a Big Four professional services firm in Australia, Alison has outstanding national and international client and business leadership experience. She is a strong advocate for improving trust between business, government and the community.
“Alison is well known and respected by Boards and CEOs across Australia as a leader and effective decision maker. I am delighted to announce Alison as our Chairman-elect and congratulate her on her appointment. She will work closely with Gary Wingrove, our CEO, to lead the firm’s future in Australia, and represent the Australian firm in the international arena,” said Peter Nash, current National Chairman of KPMG Australia.
Alison commenced her career with KPMG in the United Kingdom working in the audit and tax practices, before moving to KPMG’s Perth office where she worked in internal and external audit, corporate finance and restructuring roles. This included leading teams supporting some of the country’s largest and most complex transactions and transformations. She is currently based in Melbourne where she specialises in external audit, management and governance.
Alison has led numerous major global KPMG accounts spanning energy and resources, and financial services. Senior roles have included Leader of KPMG’s National Energy and Resources practice in Australia, and Member of the global KPMG Energy and Resources Executive. She has previously served as a Board member of KPMG Australia and is a proud and active Member of Chief Executive Women, with a particular focus on championing future women leaders.

Alison Kitchen officially commences the role on 1 September 2017. Peter Nash will work closely with her to ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities.
